Blue Skies and Sunshine
This past weekend I went to a combined stake YSA activity in St. George. Can I just tell you that one day I am retiring in the great land of St. Geezy. The weather was BEAUTIFUL! It was in the upper 70's and I just wanted to stay there forever. It was a very fun and eventful day!
In the morning we heard from two church speakers. Their talks were on marriage and education. You know the topics they usually talk about to single people. ha. Then we all ate lunch outside. Afterwards we went on the temple grounds and just walked around.
We were to then do a scavenger hunt knocking on doors and collecting supplies for humanitarian aid. I was at first a little sceptical, but it ended up being my favorite activity of the day! It feels so good to serve others! As college students I think we tend to get selfish. We don't mean to, but we all get caught up in our busy schedules and tend to focus on ourselves. We got tons of supplies, and we even helped one lady rake her leaves in her yard. After we were done we all went to a park and took a nap.
Then dinner was provided for us. A bunch of us stayed after and played a game of football. There is nothing like a fun group of friends playing games outside on a summer night. (ok so it isn't summer but it felt like it ;)
A few of my friends had never been through the Butt Crack up by Dixie Rock, so we went and did that. Its just this small opening (crack) you have to crawl all the way through. Then we went to the dance and after got a snack at Wendy's before heading back to Cedar.
A PERFECT day if I do say so myself. Days like these make everything worth while :)
